End of Lease Cleaning Checklist (Sydney Guide)
Use this comprehensive checklist to make sure every area of your rental property is inspection-ready. Covering kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, and common areas — everything your property manager will look for.
Kitchen
- Clean inside and outside of oven, including racks and trays
- Degrease rangehood and filters
- Wipe down all cupboard doors, handles, and shelves inside
- Clean benchtops, splashback, and sink thoroughly
- Clean dishwasher interior, filter, and door seal
- Wipe fridge interior and exterior (if staying)
- Clean microwave inside and out
- Mop floor including under appliances
Bathrooms & Toilets
- Scrub and descale shower screen, tiles, and grout
- Clean toilet bowl, seat, base, and behind toilet
- Wipe mirrors, vanity, and cabinets inside and out
- Remove mould from silicone seals and corners
- Clean exhaust fan cover
- Mop floor and clean behind toilet
Bedrooms & Living Areas
- Dust and wipe all surfaces, shelves, and skirting boards
- Clean inside all wardrobes, drawers, and cupboards
- Wipe light switches, power points, and door handles
- Remove scuff marks from walls
- Clean windowsills, tracks, and glass (inside)
- Vacuum and mop all floors
- Clean ceiling fans and light fittings
Laundry
- Clean laundry tub and taps
- Wipe washing machine exterior and door seal
- Clean dryer lint filter
- Mop floor
General / Final Walk-through
- Remove all personal belongings and rubbish
- Replace any blown light bulbs
- Check smoke detectors are working
- Return all keys and remotes
- Take timestamped photos of every room
- Arrange carpet steam cleaning if required by lease
